Co-operation

HelveticWind

SN Erneuerbare Enregie AG (SNEE), the association Elektra Baselland (EBL) and EKZ Renewables AG, a subsidiary of Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich (EKZ), are partners in the co-operation HelveticWind which was established by Wasser Bern (ewb) and BKW in March 2010. SNEE joined the co-operation HelveticWind in the beginning of 2012 and holds 10.9% of HelveticWind Deutschland GmbH.

Over the next years it is the goal of the co-operation partners to realise a wind energy portfolio with an output of 170 MW in the neighbouring countries and to thereby not only generate revenue, but to also have direct access to energy and certification. Through the co-operation, resources and know-how can be concentrated and risks can be shared.

Through participating in HelveticWind Deutschland GmbH the partners have five wind parks at their disposal which generate a total output of 85 MW. Together these five parks produce approximately 165 GWh in renewable power per year. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of roughly 44’000 households.

Through participating in HelveticWind Italia S.r.l. the partners have access to a wind park with a total output of 36 MW. This wind park produces 64.8 GWh in renewable power per year.
